Danny goes on an island holiday, but it all goes wrong and he has to kill pirates and mutants instead.
@edhc44 @dannyodwyer HOLY SHIT IVE BEEN WATCHING ALL OF THESE AND WAS PLANNING ON SUGGESTING IT! YOU BEAT ME TO IT! YES PLEASE!!
I remember playing this in a cyber cafe sort of thing and was mesmerized. Then the "hunters" appeared and I was so put off by it that I've never came close to another Far Cry game ever again.
map editor was the best thing ever me and a friend would spend hours making a map then killing eachother once they were finished
lol danny called the boat a car.. gj danny
EXACTLY - I ALREADY SAW THAT PULSE AD, THERE IS NO POINT IN SHOWING IT TO ME AGAIN. AND I ALSO KNOW ABOUT SNAPDRAGON PROCESSOR FOR MOBILES.
I WILL COMMENT IN CAPS EACH TIME I SEE THAT AD. THANK YOU! :D
*checks steam* Do I have Far Cry? Yes I do! Thank god for random Steam summer sales that I forgot about lol.
Feel so old for watching this. I remember being amazed by the graphics of this game when I first got it. I used to love playing LAN games with my mates around their houses. This and MOH and SOF where the FPS of choice.
hahahahaha i remember shooting those lights and basically having that same reaction in this game
My biggest issues with the crytek games and a lot of similar FPS is that they start out great, you fight humans with good IA, there's strategy involved, headshots...
And then 1/3 of the way through they introduce generic zombie-mutant-alien that just has a massive health pool, require a full clip to down and just no strategy.
@Konuvis You're right!
Also while I enjoyed this game quite a lot back in the days. I really don't like Crytek games all that much, they always have a tech-demo quality to them. IE. They feels like they are trying to show off what their engine than do, so they can sell the engine, rather than actually focusing on making a good game.
Often I find that Crytek games end up having story elements that feel so out of place and/or pace. That it's just ridiculous. These elements often feels forced in there just to ensure that the engine is shown of.
And when you constrain the story writer because he/her has to include specific elements because it also has to serve as a tech demo, well then you might end up with a good looking game. But from a story standpoint you end up with something that seems mashed together.
These games become popular because of graphics, but they never become classics. Because the biggest pull you have on your customers are the graphics, which will always be better a couple of years from now. With a good story, the graphics comes in second. People will go back and play those games, because the story was the thing that pulled you in.
Danny fair play to ya for trudging through an hour and a half of Aliens: Colonial Marines yesterday. Tried it last night for the laugh and only lasted 10 to 15 minutes. Dull... dull game.
please do yakuza and yakuza 2 for ps2 Random Encounter in the spirit of open world fun
Myth: fallen lords, populous 3, aliens vs predator (1999), Soldier of fortune 1, Commandos, Call of duty 2( true cod), Medal of Honor 1
Half-Life 2,Far Cry,Grand Theft Auto San Andreas,World of Warcraft,Halo 2,Warhammer 40000,Doom 3......... 2004 was the best year in gaming for me.Before you say 1998, i didn't have any gaming systems in 1998.
I just remember the tunnel section - you have seen loads of dead things, its really dark, you sneak around all tense and are waiting for something to jump out at you.........................and nothing happens! lol
Danny is pretty funny. I like some of the random stuff he says. "Shoot you in the face! Ohh, that's pretty messed up. Man, video games are violent." LOL!!
This game was a computer crippler in it's day. Sorta like how Crysis was (and still is for some). Good times.
I've started this so many times and never finished. It's not that I got stuck or bored though, just one of those things...
