Gamespot, Thank You once again for putting together this series. I wasn't a fan of the last 2 games and did not know how the story had progressed. I'm very excited for AC3 and now I'll have better context on the meta story. This was alot of fun and I highly encourage you to continue putting new games into context. I wholeheartedly thank you and applaud you.

@rudyv30 Thank you for letting me know there is an audience for this little project. I'm glad it's been received well and has so much support, I look forward to doing this for other games.

Yuck. The story in this game is awful.

I wonder where the event will take place after AC3 or it will be the end? Does anyone know?

@Ortego13 AC3 is the supposedly the end of Desmond's storyline. The franchise will continue, but we'll have a new protagonist to follow.

@Jan_Meja_Heir I am not exactly sure, but once I searched google and found info about AC taking place in Russia during revolution.

@Jan_Meja_Heir Well, to be honest it does not explain much, cause I have watch all previous series but it did not told me anything about this catastrophy and desmonds role in all of this. It is not sci-fi and it is definitely not Mass Effect, so what is the point, what are they trying to fight, to prevent, wtf man?

@Ortego13 Check out part 5 of AC2 and part 5 of Revelations to get most of the information about the previous civilization. Basically it seems that solar flares of some kind are what wiped out most life on the planet, the remaining ones of the previous civilization were then wiped out by the remaining parts of our civilization. Desmond is to prevent a catastrophe, which is not explicitly known before AC3 but is pointed towards being something like more solar flares.

@Jan_Meja_Heir Thanks for info, friend! Do you know anything about that previous civilization and that apocalypse? And what do they want Desmond to prevent?

@Ortego13 There have been comic books in the Assassin's Creed universe that took place in Russia, but that does not mean the next entry in the series will be there. Ubisoft have previously released artwork showing an Egyptian motif and also one of the producers talked about how they really want to do an India setting.

I think the Indian setting could be great, during the the Mughal invasion and the start of Sikhism. The Sikhs would fit perfectly into the Assassin's fiction, after they were betrayed by the Mughals they pretty much became like the Assassin order. There were stories of them tying a chakram into their hair and using it as a weapon while riding a horse. They would hang from the side of the horse and swing their hair with the chakram to attack people while they rode by.

"All that is good in me, began with you, father" Thats a touching line. I'm glad I watched this and Brotherhood, I missed some important story elements in deciding to wait for III after II

When a person dies the body often evacuates the bowels. So Altair's body probably pooped itself in that chair. Sitting there in his own poop for hundreds of years. Not very cool.

The scene where Ezio meets Altair's body is the best scene ever. RIP!!! Altair!

Thanks for all these videos; they were fantastic.

BTW How on earth did I miss 'that part in the theatre with Lucy' on my play-through of the game? I don't remember that bit at all.

What an anti-climax, no final battle like the other games. The story doesnt even make sense, if ezio left the apple in the library how did desmond find it in the colosium? Am I missing something? If so someone plz explain.

Yuna08

@Hyodra I think the final scenes made a huge impact on the story, much better than some mumbo-jumbo-final-boss-fight thingy

DjKofee

@Hyodra The Apple Desmond found in the Colosseum was another Apple, as this one we saw in the video is another Apple, the one that Altair had.

Hyodra
Hyodra

@DjKofee But wasnt altair apple the important one that only desmond can use?

Jan_Meja_Heir
Jan_Meja_Heir moderator moderatorstaff

@Hyodra  @DjKofee It seems the apple works if you have a higher concentration of first civilization DNA. Desmond has this, therefore he can use the apple while others might not be able to. I don't know that any particular apple is more significant than others, any of them would work for the Templar's goals and it seems that what Desmond has will work for the Assassin's goals. I think the important thing to note here is that there are now two known locations for pieces of Eden.

ODST-516
ODST-516

@Hyodra The Pieces of Eden are universal for anyone to use, the only reason that it was significant in Desmond's case, especially in the first game, is that his ancestor Altair was the last one in possession of it so it could be found easier than the others by using Desmond to reference his ancestor's memories to the last known location, at least to my understanding.

This is why I love Assassin's Creed. The storytelling aspect is just too great to not become enthralled.
