It is an awful unoriginal dull and generic TPS,with typically boring characters.and the graphics are naff even on PC

Maxwell and Aaron play through the beginning of Spec Ops: The Line.
.....do not buy this game , i played the demo and is boring , bad graphics , linear , arcade!!!!!!!!!!!!!......
tried the demo and I loved it, the gameplay will feel very familiar if you played Mass Effect 3, but more polished (you dont accidentally take unwanted cover while running near a any corner for example which was a very irritating thing in ME3) what I also loved is the setting, it all happens in this (apparently) natural disaster of biblical proportions that hit the city of Dubai, and everything seems gone to hell. the whole deal between the local survivors and the US army battalion gone rogue gives the whole thing a kind of "apocalypse now" kind of feeling, which only makes me more interested in the story, the guy talking in the radio is a jerk, you just want the full game just for the sure chance of reaching him and make him swallow a grenade.
it is also fun to listen to the two companions (cant remember their names :P) I got a taste for that kind of feature since Bad Company, hope that in the full game they (and they personalities) remain beside the player for the whole adventure.
your companions can be taken down and you have to reach them in order to help them and get them back into action.
love the setting..... the using your environment thing is always cool but rarely is used to its full potential
I REALLY hope this one does well... Kasavin was always one of the best at GS, he deserves the success! Looks good, too, And I love the third person perspective.... Boo FPS
shame on COD and Battlefield... as we saw in this video, you CAN do a better campaign !
great play, a true GAMER Aaron, hope to see you again !
if its anything like the old spec-ops games than its cheaply made and crappy, that being said this one seems like it may be decent.
looks ok, but if it's just a straight forward linear shooter, than it's not for me. I just wish more games would offer a more in depth experience... i dont know just my opinion...
damn i hate watching someone who either cant play games or just doesnt read the screen and do what the tutorial is telling them to do, so frustrating.
@GavinUK86 Trying to present a game to people and playing it as the same time is much more difficult than it looks.
Ahhh I dunno, looks alright to be honest. The scenery and graphics look pretty sweet anyway, and the fact Nolan North is one of the voice actors shows it must have a decent script.
It looks interesting, bit repetitive gameplay-wise but still worth a play.
i think ill check his out, since im currently living in duabi, it could be interesting, maybe i can have a firefight right where i live :D
Gees - the more I watched the worse it got. The AI, both friendly and enemy, is just godawful. Massive facepalm for the dialogue and cutscenes. Maxwell and Aaron did their best, but it sounded obvious to me that they were pretty unimpressed and resorted to wisecracks to help the action along!
i stoped watching right when the bad guys got the drop on them but just did not shot so the player can shot the bus full of sand i will pass i am so sick of this sort of hooly wood crap
They should have made the campaign in this game co op. It would have added another whole dimension to the game play. It just feels too generic to warrant a $60 purchase.
Seriously? i don't really get it... I thought games where evolving, not revolving... nice textures, lighting, and same old linear-non destructive environment as always... look's just like CoD/Gears of War.
Why is that BF3 is the only game so far who made the effort to do something different or at least kind of new, massive maps, lost op options, blow things up, etc, I'm not trying to glorify BF3 but c'mon, this game look's already 4 years old!!!
What is the point? they can keep adding nice shiny textures and camera movements, but is essentially the same!! Is ridiculous having the same enemies behind the same cover places and ALWAYS looking the opposite way from where the bullets are flying so that you can "surprise" them... please.
I don't want to diminish the game developers hard work, but investing so much time, money, and talent is a bit like having a 5 star Chef and making him to work in mac donals... just another shooter with no risks and no interest in evolving.
In deed, Spec Ops The line, The same line.....
I'll think I'll pass on this one. sorry.
@danielcliment bf3 destructible cover is a joke. most of them are just cosmetic.
DICE and BF aren't pioneering anything. Dice has always had massive maps in BF3 and destructible environments aren't anything new. Ever hear of Black? I remember the first time I took down a bell tower with an RPG in that game. That was back on the PS2.
I love BF3. I hate what's it become lately but I love the BF series. However, just like every other shooter, BF hasn't done anything new. Now making certain things better? I agree.
@StaticPenguin I'm with you, I also remember Black, and it blew my mind! at the time that game was something else! I agree that BF has being like that , but if we compare MW3 with MW2 the similarities are not even funny, I played MW and CoD till my eyes bleed, loved the games and spent days and days playing with friends, but when MW3 came out I just stopped on my tracks.
BF3 from my point of view has set a higher expectations for gaming and I've never played any BF games before, is just to hard to drive an old Datsun again after driving a Ferrari! :)
If the story is actually good I'm gonna give this game a try for sure. Few shooters try to do something good with their story.
Almost looks like Socom 4. Slow and sluggish movement. I hate that. Characters need to be fast and furious. They're super soldiers for pete's sake! Also, camera is a little to close to the hero. Zoom out a little bit so we can get some scope on our environment.
Not enough battle space either imo. The heroes are always storming at a single point-objective, like a bunker, plane, office room, etc.
Health regenerates too, I don't like that. You should also be able to carry more than two guns. Holster the pistol, pick up the sub, and strap the AR. Slow motion is also too easy a way to pick off multiple enemies.
On the brighter side, enemies are somewhat aggressive. Clips are visibly replaced with new ones. And bullets seem to go where you're shooting.
Seems like decent game, but I probably wouldn't buy it at full price.
