- "Surprisingly good"
So I found Revenge of the Flying Dutchman to be a pretty boring video game and reccomended it only to die hard fans of the show. While Battle for Bikini Bottom probably doesn't have enough to sway people who don't like Spongebob in general, there's more than enough to entertain fans and casual gamers willing to give it a a chance.
The gameplay revolves around playing as Spongebob, Patrick and Sandy who have to stop Plankton and his evil robots from taking things over. You have a few moves you can use to destroy these evil machines, which vary from character to character. Along the way, you'll bungee jump, swing your lasso and slide down mountains with your tongue. All of this is extremely over-the-top; yet quite fun and reminiscent of the actual show. You see, this is exactly what RFD lacked; spirit and energy. Basically, you went on a big scavenger hunt through lifeless levels. That is not the case here. Each level is large and colorful, full of enemies and likeable characters. And all these things are good, because actually, the gameplay and more specifically the combat itself isn't all that great. You beat things up, collect shiny objects, and occasionally defeat bosses, everything is pretty simple. But the game spices things up by adding some puzzles and mini-games, which make for some nice variety. To it's credit also, putting together successful combos while fighting is pretty satisfying.
If you ask me, this is the best Spongebob game out there. Sonewhat simple but fun gameplay mixed with fun visuals and a great cartoony atmoshpere. this game will entertain fans of the show and peole who want to give it a shot.
Score: 7.5

Just like the version of the game for its sister console the PS2; It's nothing can't get from several other game titles.
