This much-loved world building game makes its way to consoles with new controls, a starter guide, and more.
@booty56 because something new happened and means its news..... dumbass
@booty56 because its new that means its news....... dumbass
So... they send a guy who played terraria pre-hardmode, so he can be amazed at hardcore stuff? dude, he was amazed at EYE OF CTHULHU!! c'mon! the only thing new was the ui and the mining system, but content? where's that "ocean enemy"or "desert enemy"?? 17 minutes and i didn't saw a single new enemy or weapon... nice new content you got there -.-!
im watching and im not seeing anything new, they are talking like they are so inovative, but i just see squat
Terraria is a game that instests me, but Minecraft never has because it seemed boring. When Terraria comes to Xbox Live Arcade I think that I may get.
@Mister_Zurkon It had the beginning work done (like oceans.)
All that was done was lesser gravity at the top of the world like was shown in the video but Redigit stopped development before finishing it.
If they actually finish space and oceans, I might even buy this again for PSN.
@Mister_Zurkon My thoughts exactly!
It look very interesting. They could have made the graphics better though. Or if they want to keep the same tiles, they could atleast made it 60 fps
@zpluffy The human eye can't perceive 60 fps. And exactly how do you know it doesn't have 60 fps?
Lol, now where the hell did you get that information? Try playing Battlefield 3 (@30 fps) and call of duty 60fps. You can definitely see a difference. Or try playing Skyrim in 40 fps then 60 fps. There's definitely a difference. There are a lot of people that can see the difference even more than 60 fps. The reason it's locked to 60 as max fps is that most monitors or TV only support up to 60fps.

i don't like mindcraft but this seems to be more of an adventure so i will give the trial a go on xbla
@magicalclick morrowind? wtf have you been smoking? can i have some? lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=JF9gYfRTuyo One of the lead creators of Terraria's NEW project. tons of more fun to be had for super-nerds like me. Starbound
Only thing that makes me jealous as a PC Terraria owner is the console versions will have a proper multiplayer interface.
@Atheosis theres a MUCH bigger focus on adventuring in Terraria as compared to Minecraft. MUCH bigger.
I love Terraria. Somebody needs to steal their source code, so the community can do what Re-Logic and their foolish decision making refuses to do, and continue to work on the PC version of the game, adding new features and maybe even porting it to Mac and Linux.
I wonder if they finished the unfinished features from Terraria like outer space and oceans? Also, they really need to work on making the blocks connect properly. Right now they all have a very distinct flat edge between them all and that's incredibly jarring. Controls look really weird too, but I expect they'll support mouse + keyboard for it.
just got the grass blade!!!!!!!! Terraria is awesome but lack diversity in terms of enemies and weapons. It's a great game though!
Im tired of ppl complaing about PC this, console that. They announced that they werent gonna continue updating the game on PC. The reason, idk, but its not like they surprised us. Terraria is awesome hands down , I like it better than Minecraft only because I favor the snes 16bit look vs the clunky look of Minecraft(amazing game also). Im happy they are bringing it to consoles because honestly a controller is better than a keyboard, I'm sorry, but its true. Do i wish they kept investing in the PC version, of course, but am I sad? no.
How many PC games get advertised on TV. None. Unless its from Blizzard. Don't quote me on that. Please PC gamers chill, PC games still have a slew of games that are amazing and will never port to consoles. Unless its a spin-off like Dungeon Fighter.
@born8bit just one thing, controller better then keyboard? or....even....perhaps....better then mouse? not happening anytime soon...the reason why a larger marketing campaign is based on console games is easy - consoles can make more money as console games are harder to pirate then PC games - add do this main reason a second one, that majority of games in the main market of the world (US of A) are played on the console simply because consoles are more user friendly and easier to understand than PCs - and bam, you have the reason why every company, which can do so, wants to go console, money money money, the only reason, no controllers or such....honestly I understand the devs point of view to make more money by going console, still, it is no excuse them not doing any new PC content, reason? if it was not for PC, they wouldn't be here, they would not even have the money to go console, it was their PC version which earned them enough money to go console...now, after they milked it, time to use the money to expand to the markets which can earn even more (consoles) while saying f you to PC....
Impossible, you can't break new ground in a game like this without breaking out of it's very narrow scope...in other words, don't count on anything but a ditch-digging sim with a sprinkle of action elements to keep you from flatlining....
I own this for PC via Steam. But I'm more tied up wth other Steam and GO goodies to really devote time to it.
At the beginning of this video, dude mentoned that Terraria didn't reach as big an audience on PC as it can being crss-platform. So I can understand adding it to XBLA and PSN. Maybe Wiiware will get it as well.
But if they're gonna neglect the original PC fanbase, they're asking for flack. Because XBLA and PSN are not garunteed. The PC crowd is much more likely to stick around.
@nate1222 I agree with you, but yeah, being cross-platform may eventually benefit PC users... if Terraria ends up making a ton of money via platforms, I'm sure many if not all of the updates will benefit the PC as well.
@Prats1993 Easy , because the console version is the only one that will be updated in the future. They abandoned the pc version.
They stopped Updating PC version, They Forgeting Why thsi game became popular, It was PC gamers Not console , adding More features to console version Is Throwing mud on PC fanbase.
