- "Just plain fun"
The Amazing Spider-Man is a highly surprising game. Due to the quality of past Spider-Man games, which while fun at first, were also proven to be repetitive, got boring, and definitely not as great as they could have been. The Amazing Spider-Man has slapped that preconception in the face, and developers Beenox have delivered a lasting fun, full experience which has given the series of Spider-Man games new hope.
Swinging around a completely renovated Manhattan is one of the best gaming experiences ever. Seeing Spidey elevate over tall skyscrapers and whiz by them in an attempt to reach your destination is completely satisfying, and ceases to become annoying. Combat is easy to use, stylish, and an all round great experience. Beenox have captured the balance between Stealth and straightforward attacking almost aswell as Batman Arkham City has, which adds to the immersive experience. The story isn't all that great, and you'll find yourself having to go to the same buildings over and over, which is a bit of a flaw, but not one that stunts the enjoyment of the game. Outside of the campaign, there are tons of side missions to undertake, like saving citizens, and stopping other boss's in the city. There are also a few suits to find in the city, which while they look cool, have no effect on the gameplay, which leaves you wondering if it was worth it getting them. The voice acting is superb which makes the game more lively and more enjoyable to play.
All round, The Amazing Spider-Man is a great game, full of things to do, and definitely worth the money, especially if you're a fan of the Spidey franchise.

Better than most movie tie-ins, The Amazing Spider-Man is a fun, but predictably rough, game.
