You said you chose when to block but not much about the rest of combat. As long as it isn't auto attack or turn based, I am happy.

Make this game hard, Where players need other players just to get thur there quests. Make it where you hate to die. Loss of xp would be nice. There is no point in makeing a mmorpg that's single player. If you want that just go play skyrim.

I forgot to mention when i said mmo , i meat mmorpg, ofc theres mmo out there that have no resemblance to wow at all like second life, eve etc,, but we talking about the fantasy rpg genre here, and if you trying to make a decent mmorpg, its will be almost impossible to make a good , balanced one, without at least using some wow style stuff. The thing is , its has to be done in a way that is unique, and expands , and gives a new feeling that you wont get with wow, andi really think this game can pull that off.

Wtf, people talk like using wow concepts is a bad thing... news flash wow is a blueprint for a succesful mmo, completley bioycotting wow features, will NOT WORK in a mmo. Remeber wow was just a clone of the mmos around at that time, except more casual. if you making a mmo, you cant help but use certain wow features, cause they using MMO feature..

At 4:40 Kevin V says that he's "anxious" to see this game. I don't think he could have used any other word to describe what I guess is the initial impression that most people have regarding this game.

God I am so fed up of these writers and reviewers always compare every single MMO to WoW. In this particular case at least compare it to DAoC which you hinted at towards the end. Why are MMOs held to a different standard. Do you every say this shooter game feels like every other shooter? Or this single player RPG feels like every other single player RPG? Or games like Diablo 3 feel exactly like other games in the genre including Diablo 1 and Diablo 2?

So cynical and negative, so sad to see.

@Sharuko9126 Not cynical and negative in the least. But we're not going to sound all rosy when there was nothing particularly amazing or impressive, either. At E3, developers and publishers have a small window in which to make a big impression. That can be hard to do with an MMO, but other developers have managed it in the past rather well. In the case of The Elder Scrolls Online, they didn't have much to offer that made the game stand out from most other similar games. Our job is to tell you that.

And yes, if it was a shooter that felt like every other shooter, we would tell you that too. In fact, in various videos during E3, we have said exactly that about Black Ops 2 and Medal of Honor: Warfighter. We have pointed out that the new Star Wars games is a lot like Uncharted, and that Need for Speed: Most Wanted is almost exactly like Burnout: Paradise. So the answer is yes: we point out rather often when one game is very similar to others like it, and have done so multiple times at E3 2012. There is no "different standard" for MMOs, and a peek at a number of any videos we've recorded here would make that abundantly clear.

If sharing honest impressions is "sad to see," then I will proudly wear that as a badge of pride. I am not going to candy-coat something because it makes you unhappy, or just smile and nod and regurgitate a press release like a puppet. If I did that, I would be doing a disservice, and if that's what you want, there are indeed publications that will gush about everything they see.

@Kevin-V I'm a big fan of TES lore but I'm a bigger fan of Bethesda Game Studios. It's only natural that the Zenimax Online guys will have to prove themselves first before we give them any credit.

@Kevin-V Thanks for your response. And I do prefer your reviews to anyone else and have for a long time because I know you are honest. But I wonder if everything needs to be reviewed and criticized. I mean this was the first look of a game that they brought to the public, it was more of a here is an early look of them game. Even what you saw was extremely limited.

It seemed like this was a "here is what we didn't like" instead of "here is what we saw and what we liked and didn't like". I mean at 1:10 (within a minute) Mr. Toffee said "I don't know it feels like Bethesda is retreading World of Warcraft". Is that really what we want to say? When the similarities are limited to WoW (it also has a lot of similarities to Skyrim)

It just seemed too dismissive. But thanks for the video.
