It is really annoying me actually.
Hope bethesda enjoys the paycheck from M$. Just for doing this, I won't be buying this DLC. However I will still be getting it, if you know what I mean, haha.

Unless you know, they're just giving it higher-rez textures and other graphical goodies.  In which case, I won't mind it being a month late.

@ omega-phantom That's obviously a lie, if they said that. The real truth is they simply want to curb as many pirated copies as possible. It's a common trend in gaming to delay PC releases ahead of console counterparts.

Hate when xBox pulls this garbage... They pay game companies not to release or delay releases on other platforms to try and boost their sales. Pretty lame that Bethesda excepted it.
    KUPO!!!!!!!!

The funny thing will be if consoles eventually die out. Like if video games are played on tv's through a onlive kinda service. Microsoft has pretty much no first party devs, they put all their budget into timed / exclusive dlc on third party games.

What's with all the DLC crap! I want something real I can keep not thin air, we love packaging, art work the new smell of a booklet these things are all apart of our memories of a game - I hate the direction gaming is going in, it's breaking my heart.

Yes ... which raises production costs because of paper, packaging, and the whole nine yards. Physical copies are all well and good ... saving money where they can? Priceless - For everyone involved (consumers included)

Not to date myself too much, but it kind of reminds me of switching from vinyl to 8-track & cassettes to CD's and finally to digital music, Lyca. We used to get a boat load of goodies: graphics on covers, booklets, ect. with 33 1/3's. Then less, so with 8 Tracks, cassettes and CD's. Now we get jack squat with Digital stuff from iTunes, etc... Welcome to the digital age, one and all ....

Funny how a physical copy of Skyrim on pc is much cheaper than getting it directly from Steam.

I haven't seen an actual answer to this guys question. I will say first week of August, but it did come out June 26 on 360 so maybe at the end of July. I am not sure if I will get it at release on PC because of the Steam summer sale .. I bought both Witcher games so that will keep me occupied for a bit.

the way bethesda have treated both the PC and PS3 users is disgraceful. we have been left out in the cold while bethesda happily receives microsoft's money - something we are unable to do anything about. i have been a fan of the elder scrolls since i first uncovered the gem that is arena, but i find myself being torn apart from the game and the company. why should we suffer and have to wait longer. bethesda throws all fairness out of the gaming community and is now even making PS3 users wait even longer to get it - can you even see past that stack of money microsoft gave you Todd? but its not just this, Peter Hines has handled the news most insensitively - ignoring the fact that PC and PS3 users account for the majority of the money earned from skyrim along with the majority of its loyal fans. worst of all Bethesda created a game we would fall in love with, and just like oliver twist as soon as we ask for more we get beaten to the ground and mocked. this is an absolute abomination in the gaming community and if this method continues the consequences could be catastrophic for the game designers and producers - as well as the gold diggers we call the marketeers and head designers. thank you Bethesda for showing us your true nature.

I have been busy with other games but I just decided to buy dawnguard because it is only $16 on the website I got it from. A steal for the amount of hours ill put in, and the fact it might get me back into the game. The other good thing is I bet there are tonnes of cool mods since I left.

The base game alone pays for any and all dlc itself.

I like that GW2 doesnt have a monthly fee because I dont feel like I HAVE to play like I do with wow. So I can play skyrim
