Calm someone. Sneak attack. Repeat as neccesary. It singlehandedly makes Melee sneak attacks viable as a build, rather than something you are merely glad to get.

Illusion is in no way necessary for melee sneak attacks to be viable. It's already pretty OP on its own.

If you thought sneak builds in this game were overpowered, just wait until you try a sneak build with Illusion.

Dood. Backstab plus Shrouded Hand Wraps.

I have, and I found it unnecessary. No real need for spells when you can walk into any room and slit everyone's throat without being seen in the first place.

Its still a pretty good idea though I never thought of that.

I've barely used it, but I have the silent casting perk.

Then clearly I am doing something wrong. Even with one hundred sneak, people still have pretty good vision cones on them, for me anyway.

Oh yeah, it's a plenty good idea and to answer your original question illusion is great fun. I just meant that a melee sneak attack combat style doesn't need any help to be OP.

Is there actually a throat slitting animation?

Really? At even moderate levels of sneak I've never had much trouble killing whole groups of enemies relatively close to each other and remaining undetected. Obviously if possible you should wait until they're not looking at each other, but most of the time such clustered groups are inside where it's darker anyway.
There's also always the throw voice shout which I've never bothered with, but I've heard it's useful for that.

Yeah. The only catch is you have to use only your right hand weapon for the sneak attack, otherwise the killcam doesn't trigger. I usually quicksave before every group of enemies and try to go for the throat-slit killcam just because I love it so much. If the enemies are too strong, I'll reload and use both weapons.
