is there a way to prefent the execution upon entering solitude?

ive tried a ton of times and the guy still ends up getting killed, me as well in the process, im at lv10.

It's a scripted event meaning even if you killed the initial guards the guy still dies, presumably of a heart attack. Besides one of those guards is essential meaning you can't kill him at this point in the story.

Just a tip; Don't loot the amulet of Talos from him unless you want it stuck in your inventory for the rest of the game.

I actually killed the guy who was to perform the beheading just before he made his swing and the guy to be executed still had his head fall off. D:

IIRC talk to the little girl who says she doesnt want to talk and do her quest then find another amulet of talos *imperial soldiers tend to have them just murder one escorting a prisoner or pick pocket* and then you can drop it or disenchant it

I managed to kill all kill able there. I had some scrolls and buffs and ran in guns blazing (since I knew what was behind the door). I didn't get a chance to loot the bodies though (and find out that dude was dead anyway, his head didnt fall for me, got got up and moved at least to the steps), round 2 was on the way....
