riften jail secret tunnel?

i apologise if this has been stated, but: theres a weird secret tunnel into riften jails cell.
at about the mistveil keep end of the riften docks (in the worldmap) theres a load of water
flowing out of a grate. "activating" that grate takes you to the sewers, where above you at one point is a trapdoor to the jail whch can be accessed by looking up (its a low ceiling, i mean).
once there you have a very short dungeon with one skeever and some bear traps before you reach "your" cell, except that the rear wall has been removed and theres a tripwire at waist hight that doesnt seem to be avoidable. crossing it results in the wall reappearing behind you, trapping you in the cell, but it can be activated for no noticeable effect.
i ask about this because: there are the thieves guild shadowmark things next to it, so im assuming theres some way to reopen it to escape?

neither of the wiki's seems to mention it at all basically, so i just thought id see if anyone knew?

There are ways to escape every jail. Though when ever I left I just used the front door. But I have never spent much time in jail.

Pretty much sounds like you just walked backwards through the easiest way to break out of Riften's jail. In fact, before I killed off all the guards in the city, I used to sneak into the cell to reclaim my stolen goods if I were ever caught by a guard in the area, as the dungeon gives you perfect access to the chests.

Unless, of course, you are claiming to have found a second entry/exit that has nothing to do with the underground tunnels.

unfortunately (i dont believe it has been fixed yet), you cannot use said tunnels to escape.

the way it is supposed to work is, you are in the cell, interact with "loose mortar", the wall crumbles apart, you run off into the tunnels.

however, the wall wont crumble. so nothing happens.
