Skyrim Mods of the Week: Rise of the Immortal Posh Skeleton Army

@_Roo_ thanx for the site, ill check it out now, and i guess your kinda right but it would still be nice if it was offered on a console as well, maybe a toned down version and by that i mean one with less options, anything would be good really.

@sammyd1234 Craigslist. Might have to keep your eyes on it for a few weeks to find a good deal but they pop up all the time. Selfish? People are selfish not companies (hence the self.) Companies are in business to make money not give everyone whatever they want. Don't buy the product if you don't like whats offered, that's what is great about a free market. But don't rip business for trying to put food on the table of the employees who work for them and the shareholders who gambled with their hard earned money by investing in them. As to your last point there are companies working to bridge the gap between console and PC gaming and I expect we'll see more of it in the future. Look up Alienware X51 as an example. Just expect to pay for it.

@_Roo_ I cant find any PCs' that cheap where i live, how can you possibly get a PC for $300 which has better graphics than any console? where do you buy them from? is it worth me selling my console and getting one of these $300 PCs" you speak of? why shouldnt consoles have this feature, consoles deserve to have these features as much as PCs' do, its just selfish that only a PC can have this.

You can pick up a used PC with an older graphics card (just found a friend a quad core AMD, 4GB, 500GB hard drive with a HD5770 that plays most games on high with AA turned off for $ 320.00 off of Craigslist) that will run circles around a console. Or build a good brand new one for less than $ 500.00 with a low-mid range graphics card and plenty of room to grow over the next 4 or 5 years. Yes you can spend $ 2,200.00 on four 7970's with quad crossfire that will run 5040X1050 at +100FPS with everything cranked on high but it is not necessary for a great PC gaming experience. If you would have said 'WISH we COULD be able to download this stuff on console, SUCKS if you ask me' which would imply frustration I would have stayed off of my soap box. But you didn't you used SHOULD, and UNFAIR which implies that you believe you are entitled to them which is just wrong.

@_Roo_ why so mean? i dont have the money for a good PC and my pc is a windows xp so a $50 graphics card wouldnt help at all, you can buy a console for $400 but a high graphics PC is like $2000, thats ridiculous, you cant seriously expect me to pay that much for a PC, a PC is superior but the price is just ridiculous, if i could i would buy a gaming PC with high graphics in a heart beat but i cant afford that so im stuck with a console, im not wining cause pc is better because i prefer pc, im wining because its so damn expensive,by the way i dont think PC is dead, if its the best how can it be dead?

@cf187x Yeeh but I have a ps3 :( so ima wait till I get this too make sure theres a bunch of patches and hopefully these mods and more will be included in a dlc

Although cool, that skeleton mob and horse combat look kinda unbalanced. Best mods for me are the re-textures. Not that I complain or anything.

@sammyd1234 You should be able to download these? You can 'ON YOUR COMPUTER'. If console manufacturers don't allow player mods that's your problem for gaming on an idiot box. Not the problem of the dedicated PC community that on their own time develops these mods for PC's. I guess in your entitled world the individuals doing this for free should be forced to program across all platforms or should the console manufacturers be forced to do it for you? For years console fanboys have done nothing but tell PC users that PC gaming is dead and now you complain that it is, in your words, 'unfair' that you have an inferior gaming system? I assume it is also unfair that you are forced to game on systems with geriatric graphic technology or wait 8-10 years for new hardware? I'll tell you what is 'unfair' as you put it. That we as PC gamers have to play crappy ported games optimized to run on ancient machines. What is 'unfair' is that rather than getting games optimized for modern graphics hardware that can be dumbed down for the consoles PC gamers have to rely on unpaid modders to fix the games after the fact. Get a cheap computer with a $ 50.00 graphics card that will still run circles around a console and quit wining about how somethings unfair because you have chosen a console over a PC.

What kind of picks are these? I can think of at least 40 mods better than that crap selection.

Then you shouldn't have a crappy console then should you! Real gamers get PC's Not plastic boxs! With limited controls, limited views, limited playability!

Is this going to be at ps3 like a dlc or an update?

The mounted combat is something I've been wanting, as an alchemist they really need to make a mod for picking plants while on a horse. I'm glad they gave the creators create a lot of articles i've seen havn't

@armandoisgreat I know the feelin, if my machine packed in anytime this year i will be royally screwed! But....If you come across a spare £300-£400 (roughly for a pc that would run skyrim nice, you could proberly get away with abit less if you dont mind a game looking "nice" atleast) i would honestly sugest you build your own pc.... they are ALOT cheaper this way, and you know your machine inside out from go! I dont know any good stores to build from elsewhere, but if you're from UK, Novatech is good (alough im sure people will qoute this and give their personal fav, and i hope they do:P). If you can go a week - a month without a console id even suggest you sell your console to put funds towards one! Dont be scared off by A: the people that only have TOP spec machines, and claim anything thats not the NEWEST is simply not worth having.... this is simply not true. or B: by the people that say u need to fully upgrade once a year to play new games, again this is simply not true. I build my machine 4 years ago, and even then it was by no means "top spec", and all i have upgraded in that time is my gfx card ( to a ATI Radeon HD 5670 a few years back) costing around £60, and to lay the facts down straight in a "normal" language, i can play skyrim with a good frame rate and it looks "nice" (not as amazing as it could be maxed out), but nice enough to immerse!

@blakeney Just save it right before you enter the character creation screen. Then keep that save for whenever you want to make a new character.

@blakeney That's precisely why I'm a console gamer, I have low funds! I definitely agree that this is an awesome time for pc games. I want access to thousands of mods, The Witcher 2, and 64-player Battelfield 3 battles! Arrgghh!!

@armandoisgreat Build a relativly cheap pc is your best bet! :P No really though, imo pc gaming's horizen is looking good again, so now's the time if you like this sort of thing! My pc runs this on high with shadows on medium, and it was an expensive build like 4years ago!! Duel core cpu... gfx card that costs around £40 nowerdays etc, and it runs fine.

As a console player, I'm so jealous! Is there any way we can get some of this enhanced fantasy love?

@vfibsux Yeah i saw that vid too, so found it obvious the dragon mount is not a user made mod. I guess those that did'nt see it might think its part of "Skyrim Mods of the Week". It wont be long before some one does one anyway, thats if they dont release the "made in one week" mods as a official pack or DLC! I have not yet messed with the mod kit...as i have 0 knowledge or exp in using it... but i want to make one that starts the game about 5mins in...at the char create screen... i like to try each race before commiting hours, and that fricking cart ride is starting to grate on me lol!!

you mods are lame no offense. This video could of showcased alot better ones (especially onces that have been out for a while) I top your skeleton army, becuase with the unlimited number of summons mod, you can summonb as many of anythign as you want, and with magic mods to summon every creature in the game, wars can get very creative speaking of wars, the best mod out for skyrim right now is WARS IN SKYRIM, check it out. the posh mudcrab was cool too, but not as funny as the MACHO MAN Dragons..... yes i said it right, a dragon version the late Randy Savage. Have fun guys

Rise of the masses with no modding experience more like (and not belittleing the enthusiastic effort). But......be patient, keep checking Nexus and be rewarded ;)

You can even change the mesh and texture of armor to the point that that females wearing bikini armor at a armor rate of 1500 point and 150% fire and ice resistant rating, no dragon could even touch you without using special mod to make them even tougher!!! This game makes Bethesda the Best of all company!!! Hehehe, thank you PC modding tools :P

First batch? Maybe the first batch on Steam but skyrim.nexus.com has been providing mods since day 1.

@radicaltoenail @blakeney There was a video of mods the devs did after the game was complete, the excerpts with the mounted combat and dragon mount WERE FROM THAT VIDEO. They are NOT user mods and are NOT available as of this moment. That is all I was saying. It had people confused when THIS video implied they were user mods, they are NOT. Hopefully this is clear now, holy crap lol.

I had to get it for the 360 'cause my laptop probably wouldn't be able to run it... Can't wait to get a good desktop 8D
