I'm still in the middle of the game but it's still impressive. I've played Xenoblade but not Pandora's Tower yet. This RPG also opened my eyes after Xenoblade. Anyway, this game will be enjoyed for any Wii and RPG fans.

Don't misunderstand me. It's a beautiful game with a very deep story (The way it is turned makes it stronger) and interesting characters, probably one of the best RPG's of this decade.
Still I didn't have the same hook I had with Xenoblade.
This is my opinion and I don't intend to oppose those two games because both of them are magnificient and despite the defaults of the last story I finally understand why they gave it a 9.0 out of ten, totally deserved.
2 Like well 2 reason to pick up a wii now, This and Xenoblade, Still kind upset most the good jrpg are on handhelds or wii, while ps3 and 360 there non existant
1 Like This is probably the closest to Final Fantasy without the title. The Last Story as the last game and rpg is a fitting end as the best Wii game ever. Xenoblade is superb last year and The Last Story is superb this year. Despite the comments down below, this game should never be judged by its cover and to be underestimated by any skeptics.

I respect Nobuo and Hironobu work but still... even after more than 7 hours of play I'm far to be impressed....
Lags, inconsistencies, classic story, animations that can be improved, no diverse environnements etc.
Well it would have certainly been a 9.0 game before Xenoblade but imo the review is innocurate.
Xenoblade hooked me since the title screen... I still looking forward this hook in Last Story.
I'll give it another 15+ hours to see if I change my mind though.

1 Like The Name is fitting... seeing as this will probably be the last RPG on the Wii, Question though.... why didn't they put this on all consoles? or are they expecting this to sell like Monster Hunter in Japan? I guess the world may never know!

Love it, but its pretty short. Expecially after finishing Xenoblade a month ago. If only it could of been extended in some way...

4 Like I feels like the Wii is the PS2 of this generation. It's getting a lot of amazing titles that look to be made with love right by the end of the console's life.
Just like the PS2 got some absolutely classics to end with, such as God of War II and Shadow of the Colossus (and tons others)

2 Like Why do the guys always look like chicks in this anime style? So weird. I cant play any game with this style.
3 Like Switching the attack mode to MANUAL so pressing (A) attacks and (y) is cover.... Made a huge, huge difference for me, battles are just more visceral when you are in control of the weapon swinging hero.....LOVE it!
2 Like I bought this game months ago, it might look good on the videos but I can assure you its boring as hell the combat most of the time you dont even do anything just palce yourself infront of enemies.
1 Like Looks like fun. But is it just me, or does 9.0 seem a little high? I've seen this exact same thing from 1/2 a dozen SE titles in the last few years. Gamespot has crushed some other decent titles for lack of originality. Why treat this one as the 2nd coming?

1 Like @AtariOno This isnt a SE game though. It's created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the man who helped create the original FF game and played a large role in many of the following FF games up to XI. I'm not saying this should automatically make it a good game, but I would give the man some credit.
I'm American and I like foreign accents or different languages with subtitles better in jRPG's of the past 10 years or so. American voice acting in most foreign games are so terrible and corny it ruins the entire experience for me.

10 Like You know for all these people wondering why it's not on the PS3 the answer is rather obvious. Hironobu Sakaguchi has produced absolutely nothing for the PS3 since being fired by Sony, and having his creation Final Fantasy and over a decades worth of work involved with the series taken away. Lets not forget that Hironobu is also soley responsible for saving Sony from going bankrupt in its infancy with Final Fantasy 1, after all that's why it's called Final Fantasy it was expected to be the last game produced but became a sensation and saved them. So yeah if they treated me as such and fired me after decades of good work, content, and saving their company I wouldn't produce anything for them again...EVER!
@SpikeSpeagal Hironobu Sakaguchi didn't work for Sony, how would they fire him? The games he made on Xbox were funded and published by Microsoft. The Last Story was funded and published (in Japan) by Nintendo. He is not a publisher, he only does games when other companies demand that from him. Sony doesn't like JRPGs anymore, they haven't published a single one this generation on the PS3 (except for White Knight Chronicles). If Sony asks him to make a game for PS3 and fund it, I'm sure he wouldn't refuse, but Sony just doesn't want to support JRPGs anymore.

He's not been fired by Sony... He stepped down from his position at Square-Enix and then left because he didn't like the way the company was going, never been hired by Sony I don't think, lol.
FF1 was so far before the PS1 it's funny to think where you got that from.
1 Like @SpikeSpeagal How did he save sony from bankruptcy with FF1? The first FF game was released 7 years before the playstation. Furthermore, Sony is a massive company. Film, television, music, home electronics... If the Playstation branch were to collapse they would still be fine.
@UTHorsey this^ and even without ff there were still a bunch of top sellers on the ps1. though ff is responsible for quite a few ps1s being sold.
1 Like @shadowysea07 i think he was thinking about Nintendo, but even thats not true. He saved Squaresoft with Final Fantasy 1. The first Final Fantasy on the PS was 7.
1 Like @SpikeSpeagal The Final Fantasy games Sakaguchi was associated with were great. The series has gone to hell without him. The Last Story is a true blessing for people who miss Sakaguchi's beautiful creativity.
