Anyone have a GTX 670. How does it do with this game?

I just installed my 670 last night. I'm getting a solid 60 FPS on ultra settings with ubersampling enabled. No hiccups or slowdown at all.

I know you want to brag about your card but giving out false information is just wrong. I know for a fact that a single GTX670 cannot do solid 60Fps with Ubersampling on and everything else maxed out at 1920x1080 resolution. It takes 2x GTX680's to do 60Fps with everything maxed out and Ubersampling turned on, and thats not even 100% of the time, it still dips in the 50's sometimes in some scenes. Got this information myself from people who own 680's in SLI, ontop of that there's actually benchmarks on the internet showing how these cards perform with Ubersampling on.
This is just one of em
http://www.hardware.fr/medias/photos_news/00/36/IMG0036567.gifI myself have 3x GTX580's which is 160% faster than a single GTX680 and with Ubersampling on i still dip to Framerate in the 50's. With 2x GTX580's , which is 60% faster than a single GTX680, the Framerate hovers in the 40's.
So yeah quit lying.

Heres something from a review
" The Radeon HD 7970 and GeForce GTX 680 both struggled equally at 2560x1600 on this game, which is quite impressive for a year old game. The most demanding feature of the game is UberSampling, which incorporates Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering and can bring even these powerful graphics cards to their knees. When it was enabled [H] saw frame rates reduced to 20fps or lower, "
That was at 2650x1600 resolution so the framerates are lower, but they woudnt be that much better in 1920x1080. Ubersampling is just a really demanding option, nobody is gonna believe a single GTX670 can handle it with solid 60Fps.
Here's a statement from someone with 2x GTX680's in Sli
"Agree...Witcher 2 in Uber at 1080p is one hell of an attempt to maintain 60fps. For example, I have 2x680's in SLI Overclocked to 1106 regular, hit around 1184-1200 boost on each card, paired with a 3930k at 4.6 OC and at 1080p I bounce between 40-60fps. There are very few areas where it maintains solid 60, it mostly going between 40-60fps and this is in the beginning areas...I am sure in the Floatsom (sp) it will average bit lower.
I know someone that is able to maintain 60fps rock solid, but it required 3x680's..so it is possible, but you will need 3 cards for ultimate bliss in that game."
So yeah seriously quit the bs, irritates the hell out of me.

My apologies. You are most certainly correct. What I should have said was I now run W2 at a solid 60 FPS without ubersampling. The FPS fluctuate between 25 and 45 FPS according to FRAPS with upersampling on. It was closer to 30 during battle. Keep in mind this was early in the game. It is closer to 3FYI, I'm not "bragging" about my new video card. I'm just super stoked because it runs a heck of a lot better than my old 550 Ti. Friend bought it for me as a gift. Said I would need a new GPU since my wife and I are expecting our first baby any day, hour, or minute.
How hot do your 680s run? And how big is your case?

Alright that clears it out. But i do not have 680's, i have 3x GTX580's in SLI, the top card runs the hottest reaching about 85c in the most graphically intensive parts of The Witcher 2, but thats fine for these cards really, its just been really hot here where i live, usually on cold days the top card never goes above 70c.
My case is a CoolerMaster Storm Trooper, full tower case, about the same height as the HAF X i think. It has about 10x 2000RPM fans attached to it for good airflow, not including the 2x 2000RPM ones for my processors H70 cooler.
But i can imagine GTX670's/680's/690's to run a little colder than that since the Kepler chips consume less power i believe, which makes them less hot.

Nice case! I wasn't trying to lie or mislead. I hope the 670 will last me a few years. Never done sli but I think it may be worth it down the road.
In any case, I do apologize for the screw up, but if the tc is thinking about upgrading I can definitely recommend the 670. It is a lot quieter than I thought it would be. The performance is excellent....but it should be for the price tag.

Just goes to show how most top end video cards are overkill for the majority of games being released on the PC anymore. To actually take advantage of the higher power, you need to be running dual/triple display setups or crazy resolutions.
I'm using a GTX 580, and my average FPS was 55, with it never dropping below 50 except with the occasional loading. That's with everything maxed and uber off.

The 550 ti ran it pretty well. It didn't handle ultra as well as I would have liked. I tried with ubersampling on and it stuttered quite a bit. It performed well on high settings though. At least the beginning of the game did. Definitely playable but there is a noticeable improvement with the 670....especially with the draw distance. The finest details make the game that much more impressive.
I want a better monitor in the future. Preferably 120 Hz...so I can take full advantage. Any suggestions? How is this game with a dual monitor setup?

Get the 120hz it looks bad ass if you can run above 60fps,I can't recommend dual monitor since i only use one the performance hit is huge and stay away from the motion flow on 120hz it causes input lag.

I get like 20 fps maxed with uber on at 1080p with my 560 not even over locked.
I have an i7 2600 though and assume its mainly because of that.
I get a perfect 60 without uber.

So you're not even getting 60fps with a gtx 580 which up until recently was the top card....? Remind me again how most GPUs are overkill.

wow so this game is like the "Crysis" of 2007? damnn. lol
and I can play on just all high settings with V-sync on and max res and everything enabled obv except for Uber. I just clicked the high option in settings and stay at 60fps with it dipping to 50ish a couple but thats about as bad as it gets, but like I said, Just high and all stock settings.
The bloom HDR is over bright and annoying and I might turn that off as well as blur, I wonder if that will improve performance so I can put some stuff on ultra? I haven't tried any ultra yet, but I don't care at being at 60frames all the time, I am fine with it dipping a little bit. Does anyone know what the texture Memory szie (MB) thing does? My card as 2GB could I put that at very high? I notice sometimes when I enter inside areas the textures are 1-2secs late to load. I hate this and gets annoying to deal with that on a new rig. I can't figure out why it does tht.

sorry cyborg112, but you have it backwards. 1 gtx 680 = the 580 in cuda cores alone and since almost no game scales well with tri sli you are the one who is lying so get your facts straight. No one is bragging or anything. I also have a gtx 670 and can run it on Ultra at a solid 60 no problem with uber disabled of course, but dont go spouting when you dont even have your facts straight. by the way for this thread the GTX 670 is a tremendously good bye, I highly recommend it!

I max this minus ubersampling at almost 50-60fps with a 6870.

Then you are not really maxing it out now are you. When you have even one setting turned down, you cannot say you run the game on maximum settings, maximum means the highest possible, the limit, the greatest, etc. Hate it when people say they max a game out but have one or two settings turned down or off, in that case you are not maxing the game out, you are playing it "near maxed".

How about saying "everything maxed (or on max setting) except for X (like Ubersampling)?

Utter BS, unless you're running at a low resolution.
