Join the nation:So finally, after 8 years of scratching a living in flea infested villages, we are finally going back to where we belong, Rome! /endripoffgladiatorquote
For me, Rome: Total War was the first in the series that I had ever played, and it was actually the game that brought me to start visiting GameSpot in the first place. In fact, it was actually the first game that I had really ever enthusiastically anticipated before its release. The game really captured my imagination like nothing else, and most of my first 1000 posts were on its discussion board.
When did you start playing? Do we have any fans from the first Shogun here? I was a little young when the first one came out and was barely a gamer at the time.

Yea, i started out with Shogun Total War. I was small too so i wasn't good at it though and my computer wasn't good enough for Shogun.
However, i fell in love with Total War series after the first Medieval Total War. As mentioned, the variety of cultures and nations really drew me in.

- to me it was Rome: Total War. I loved the game alot, & I loved it more after its 1.3 update which back then added alot of graphic updates to the game. What was once Great became EPIC.

The day Shogun 1, the first game, came out, and our measly GeForce 2s could barely run it. Hooked ever since despite some disappointments.

"From this day to the ending of the world we in it shall be remembered. We lucky few, we band of brothers. For he who today sheds his blood with me shall be my brother."
Medievil 2 for me, would enjoy a third sometime actually.

For me I have been a Total War fan since the very beginning. Shogun: Total War was my first ever true strategy game ever on PC and since then I bought every single Total War to date. Although personally my favorite game is either Rome: Total War or Medieval 2

They couldn't of made a better choice with choosing this era and with the new graphics and gameplay mechanics it will be amazing. This is at the top of my list so far above AC3, GTAV, Resi 6 and others.

Rome, my bro and like 5 of my buddies each had it and we would have some epic battles. One of the few games my brother still plays and I do occasionaly. Somtimes we would troll by making a FFA then team-up on all the other people, but at the end of teaming up it always backed fired on whoever put in the most effort against the other people. So many good times doing bridge maps and siege's. Bought Medieval 2 when it came out but it didn't pull me in like Rome and I just felt myself going back to Rome everytime I played it. This game has a lot ot live up to.

Not quite sure what year it came out but Shogun was the very first Total War game I played and have been madly in love with the series ever since. Rome was by far my favorite of all out of the series. Im really looking forward and from what I read in other articles about being able to control some of the famous legions of the Roman era, I really hope we get to see the 13th Legion in action. What would be more thrilling than being Caesar and crossing the Rubicon with the 13th to begin the civil war and the end of the Roman Republic.
