Now THAT, I was not expecting. Modern Warfare 2 and Phantasy Star 0 impressions.
So I recently got two new games, which both came out on last Tuesday. The first was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, obviously.
So far, Modern Warfare 2 is completely amazing. It's not as good as all the hype would lead you to believe, but then again, no game deserves THAT much hype. The campaign is fun and has the perfect length (not too long, not too short), and the multiplayer is infinitely better than Modern Warfare 1. Weapons and grenades are more balanced this time around, making it harder for people to constantly kill you just by mindlessly spamming grenades everywhere. As some of you may know, I always criticized Modern Warfare 1's multiplayer for being nothing more than a huge, grenade-spamming camp-fest.
But things are more balanced this time around. All in all, though, I'd say I'm still enjoying Halo 3: ODST a little more. So, yeah, that's not what I was surprised about. I expected Modern Warfare 2 to be really good.
Onto the second game, and HERE'S the surprise. I bought Phantasy Star Zero for the DS, and... it may sound weird, but I'm liking this game more than Modern Warfare 2.
Something about it... the gameplay is just so addictive and fun; very similar to Phantasy Star Online (which happens to be one of my favorite games of all-time). I can't say much about the gameplay, since it's kind of hard to describe. So I'll end this blog here.Your picture is here, and I'll see you all soon.

Payback is a bee-otch
Tagged. AGAIN... payback for when I tagged -DaNuTz- all those years ago when the last round of tagging happened. And he posted a whopping 25 facts... and since I'm not one to weasel out of work, here's 25 facts about me.
1: I'm originally from a small town named Groveland in Massachusetts, just outside of Haverhill.
2: I planned on entering the Second Annual Halolzween Pumpkin Carving Contest, but the pumpkin I had turned out to be rotten, and it fell apart when I started carving it.
(Click the link to see the awesome pumpkins that were submitted!)3: Despite having a DeviantArt account with many people following me, I have yet to post a single picture on there.
4: In my free time, I began writing a series of blogs on NoobFeed called "Top 10 Characters", where I take my 10 favorite characters from a gaming series and write about their personality and their impact on the game's story. If you'd like to see them, here's my Ace Attorney one and my Fire Emblem one.
5: I didn't really like the multiplayer for Call of Duty 4, and I only play it when my friends are.
6: I recently bought Team Fortress 2 for the PC after running a system requirements test (it said I could run it). However, it's so slow and laggy on my PC, it's impossible to play.
7: My favorite movies are Pulp Fiction and The Boondock Saints.
8: My favorite games are Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, and Fire Emblem 7.
9: When playing Brawl, I tend to main Marth, Zelda, and Captain Falcon.
10: I have two cats; one weighs eight pounds and has diabetes, and the other weighs 20 pounds and licks plastic bags.
11: Though raised as a Greek Orthodox Christian, I recently became an atheist, then later converted to the Church of Falcon. Then I accepted the Wings of Valmar as my savior, then became an atheist again.
12: My favorite comedian is (or was) George Carlin. Rest in peace.

13: Some of my favorite shows include The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, South Park, and Futurama.
14: As effeminate as I may seem, I am 100% straight.
15: On that topic, I recently realized that 99% of my avatars have been females, and 90% of them have had red hair.
16: I don't believe in the whole 2012 theory, much like I didn't believe in the Y2K scare.
17: Soon, I may leave GameSpot behind and move permanently to NoobFeed.
18: Hopefully, once I finish high school and get out of college, I will go to law school and become a defense attorney.
19: Of the many real-life friends I have on GameSpot, I am the only one that is still regularly active.
20: I recently cut soda out of my diet nearly 100%.
21: I began gaming further back than my memory reaches, starting with an old NES at my grandparent's house.
22: Politically, I share both left- and right-wing ideals, but I currently lean more left.
23: I really wish that Fire Emblem 7 would be adapted into a movie or an anime, and actually be handled by someone who knows what the hell they're doing.
24: 25 facts is 25 too many. You'll get yours, Danutz. Mark my words...
25: If you made it this far, congratulations! You win a cookie.
Done with that. I'm not going to tag anyone in hopes that it will help this blow over sooner, but feel free to post some facts about you if you'd like. Picture here, see you soon.

Impressions: Fire Emblem
Been playing Fire Emblem for the GBA. The one that's just called "Fire Emblem." So far, it's really good. Fun gameplay, and as you all probably know by now, I'm a sucker for character-driven storylines (Grandia II, Ace Attorney, Fire Emblem, etc.), so it's got a pretty good story too. And my personal favorite aspect, interesting/good characters. Eliwood is a little one-dimensional, but Hector is pretty interesting. Florina is kind of funny, and Sain and Kent always make me laugh as well. On the nicer side... Lyn is definitely interesting to watch.
So, you know what that means... time for an avatar switch.
Lyndis this time. Three pictures, here, here, and here. The first one is a headshot of the official art for her, with a gold background. The second one is another piece of official art. The third one is her forward-facing sprite from the game, with a red background. As per usual, pick the one you like best. Not much else new... still waiting for Modern Warfare 2, but a large number of DS games have piqued my interest as well. Namely, Mario & Luigi, Scribblenauts, Kingdom Hearts, and Phantasy Star 0. So I might rent one or two of those while waiting.
Instead of a picture today, it's a short funny video. See it here.
While I've got you here though, anyone have anything to say about the following Fire Emblem games; Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, and The Sacred Stones? I heard Radiant Dawn was ridiculously hard, and if so, I don't think I'll do too well at the moment...

Rock Band 2
"Surprisingly good" Well, it delivers what the Rock Band 1 intended to deliver, but you'd expect more from that game's sequel. Continue »
