Achevement hunting.... Bloody murder
After not having an xbox for so long my once respectable 8000gp seemed like nothing, and im well aware of ho some people look at achevement hunters. But i dont care, i had to get at least past 10000, and im pleased to say i did over the last few months. This has been thanks to the fact ive decided to put a bit more time into the games i have rather then running out to keep buying games, although ive still been buying.. Just not playing.
The first big game i played since the last update was ODST, a game that was hyped to the moon, came out with midnight store openings and move style trailers, and then was forgotten about, With good reason too, but ill save that for a review, i then decided to finish lost odyssey, i had a broken disc one with my old xbox and couldnt get past the cut scenes after fighting the worm at grand staff. I went to the game store and got a preowned copy fot £8, a fantastic deal for the amount of game, clocked the game in 35 hours, which seemed long enough. There are some RPGs you want to keep going and some go on a bit, this one was just right.
Once that was out the way came a game i really had no intention of buying till i was hit with something about a million bazillion guns, of which there was about 12 models. But sod that, diablo only had a limited number of weapon pictures but it was still fantastic to find a rare gold one. And that applys here too, ive played it to death, got board and am saving it, because its a pick up and play shooter that i know ill want to play more with.
And once that was done i started Infinite Undiscovery, a ame which i still say is underrated, for all ive never been more then 6 hours into, last time i played i managed to miss every achevement i could miss and i wasnt going to let that happen again, so ive slogged, read faqs and slogged some more. And up to where i am, i have them all, but certain ones, (the rescue of some soldiers and saving the boy) have caused me to almost implant my controller into the television, and the latter was got in the end by what seemed like luck.
And i finish with Forza 2, ive owned it several times and only just managed to get all the golds and time trials, this coulsed me more stress then i should really admit too because its my own crap driving at fault.... And AI cars that decide to ram you off the track or into a wall....
Its been an xbox few months, i didnt buy MW2 and wont be buying it ever... and that makes me feel good inside, i dont know why, i think its because it looks like the same game that was released 2 years ago, or it could be that the hype just anoyed me?

Update from a semi-online gamer
Well, after a a long time trying i managed to get my xbox360 and ps3 online, all using my T-Mobile mobile broadband, its not as hard as some say and the games ive played have had mixed results. Updating games and consoles works great, but if you are on a plan that charges beyond your limit dont bother.
Im on fair use, so they wont charge me extra, good job too, i have a 3gb limit and have used 10gb so far! Game playing on the other hand is a mixed bag, ive had a real blast playing killzone 2 online without any problems, even in 32 player matches, resistance 2 wont give it the time of day though, so i havent been able to play online. UT3 which is like a different game after the patch i moaned on about last time, but suffers terrible lag, i managed 2 games, where i was fodder. It reminded me of the days of playing Quake 3 with someone who was 999ing.
I havent bothered so far with xbox live yet as im still silver and done really want to commit to gold if its going to be crap, but i need to do something as i really want to play forza 3 this christmas time.
Well thats it, a pointless update of my progression from offline to online!

Woes of an offline gamer
Remember the old days? In fact you only have to look at the last generation, when a new game or the next game in a series came out it had to be special, something new, filled with all the previous games good points while introducing loads more stuff. Then it came out, and thats that, its out, you buy, you play, if it was crap theres nothing they can do about it.
Nowadays this isnt a problem, thanks to the internet companys can pump any **** out and release patches to address the complaints, remember two worlds, oblivion killer my ass, it hadd a patch bigger then some games.. But what do the offline owners of that game do?
Im now on mobile broadband, so im restricted to games as they come, no addons, (with a few exceptions) no patches, i bought UT3 for the PS3 and was excited to start adding mods, but i cant, because i need to update the game... This was never a problem in the past, and its really bugging me.
But this is also hitting me in another way, while offline ive been playing with friends some more, and there are a good number of games that dont support 4 player, left for dead comes to mind, UT3 has no split screen at all!!! A Tounament FPS with no splitscreen????
Really i think games companys need to have a think about this its not fair on the many people who dont have an internet connection, the multiplayer i can live with, but being stuck with a crappy version of a game just because i cant patch it is just taking the mick!
