- Serious, wtf? When in reality EVER has ANYONE fought a PACK of Cougars?? NAME ONE GORRAM TIME!!!! What the hell happened to the game industry that convinced both Rockstar and Ubisoft that cougars travel the American wilds in groups of 3 or more?

From Wikipedia: Like almost all cats, the cougar is a solitary animal. Only mothers and kittens live in groups, with adults meeting only to mate.

SOLITARY. SOLI-F'IN-TARY!!! Not "Get gang-raped by a cougar's 3 buddies while you skin it!!!"

Seriously, I climbed one mountain, spotted a cougar, laid a trap, killed it, and then got jumped by his 3 friends. As I continued to climb I encountered 3 more cougars traveling in a group. At the peak of the mountain I killed another cougar and then on the way down I killed two more before being attacked by yet another cougar! When the 12th cougar came after me I literally leapt off the mountain to my sweet, sweet, death just to get the F off of Cougar Mountain!!! (We ran upon a whole cougar village!)

Evidently John Marston can thank Connor for his relatively low number of cougar encounters. For every pack of 3 Marston encountered there were TWELVE that Connor had to slay!

How is AC III compared to AC II ? many peeps saying AC II is still better than AC III.

ACIII is ambitious, but FULL of glitches.  ACII was a shining, polished gem but ACIII is a diamond in the rough.  It has elements of RDR and Skyrim, which adds a lot, but the bugs really can ruin immersion.

Yeah, this sort of thing happens a lot in AC3, seemingly because some hunting grounds are relatively small but they still have like five or six different species around. So that means whenever you come across a hostile animal there are about three others in the wings. I got attacked by three bears the other day. One came out, i took care of it then when i went to skin it another came, and while i was fighting that second one i could see a third bear lumbering towards me. Didn;t know bears had a pack mentality.

What is it with you and bears, mate?  Did you lure them into an innocent homestead thsi time as well?  ;)

Heh. I must have pissed off a native american at some point and now the spirit of the bear haunts me. Good thing there aren't any bears here in Australia.

Then again, how many time travelling conspiratorialists are there?

oh my God, I was thinking the same thing as I played, this is a rip of Red Dead with the hunting!  cougars devouring me in seconds!

I also get a strong Skyrim vibe off of it now that I'm Connor.  I think that's why it is SO much improved over the opening sequence.

@Uesugi-dono I don't know, I'm still not crazy about it - I'm happier playing Rocksmith than AC3...there, I said it!

I don't think they generally outright attack people either, so there's that.

I always enjoyed encountering cougars when I was out clubbing.

cougars would normally only appear alone in RDR, don't know about AC3.

Huh?  I've played through RDR twice, the second time just recently in fact.  I can't recall ever encountering a single cougar unless it was spotting one as I rode by.  It was like clockwork: kill a cougar, prepare for the second cougar's attack.  That picture up top was a simple google search for "RDR Cougar" and it was right there.

IIRC, they only tend to congregate at bars, restaurants and tanning clinics.
