    I'll Walk You Through This!!

    http://www.gufuyourself.com/2013/06/13/brocast-episode-14-e3-press-conferences/

E3 cast, and now you'll never see me link shit to that site ever again probably. I'm not promising this, I just assume we'll go back to being lazy again lol. So I saw 2 movies this week, and Cliffy B was outspoken this week. So

Edit: Oh and Tom Towers. Your stupid comment section in your blog hates my damn posts. What the f*ck kind of fairy dust do you throw on that shit. So annoying.

    130522thisistheend_lrg_18po67f-18po67s.j

Yes the title is a reference to this movie. I was gonna go with "I WILL **** ALL OVER YOU"...but I figured that might get some warning flags. Regardless

Funny F*cking Film out of 10

    henry-cavill-man-of-steel.jpg

I really really really wanted to enjoy this because I love Superman. But the movie made it really hard. There are just story aspects of the movie that are just dumb. Some of the dialogue between characters is corny as f*ck(hur dur it's a Superhero movie). The transitions between scenes is awkward at times. Like his whole origin at the beginning of the movie makes very little sense on how/why he's hopping from one place to the next only to end up where he's at, and then bam he's Superman. The most annoying scene transition was probably the part where him and Lois are in that interrogation room talking, and then the next second they are talking in a desert with the camera only on the two of them.

The action and pure spectacle was fine. In that regard they did Superman some justice. Like I think most of the action scenes are well done, but some of the CG is really obvious. That said some of the sheer badassery of those fights was cool. Like that one bad chick was **** gangsta, and most of the Superman vs Zod stuff was really nice. I like the dude playing Superman, and there are like moments where it looks like they are about to do the character of Superman justice, but they never actually do anything with it save like something with the ending. So spoiler.

    ***SPOILER***

And I don't think it needed to be the comedy some of the reviews said it was lacking. Like it had some funny moments along the way. I did enjoy the Lois and Superman stuff for the most part, but overall like the film just wanted to be epic. Which is fine, but for a Superhero movie(especially Superman) there should be a sense of wonder and awe to it. It should have some sense of fun to it. And I don't know I didn't really get that. I guess I'm not explaining it well, but it's like I purchased a superhero movie ticket, but the fun was sold seperately.

Admittedly I don't think a lot of superhero movies are good films, but I definitely don't think you can argue Man of Steel is a good film. It can be entertaining sure, it's fine if you just want to shut your brain off and watch crazy shit happen, but as a Superman story it's weak. And that's really f*cking annoying, because there are some awesome ideas in this movie. At the least

The Movie is Not anywhere near as terrible as the trailer to Gravity, who the f*ck approved that shit? out of 10

    Cliffy-B-Leaving-Epic-Games.jpg

    So Cliffy B had this

    http://www.vg247.com/2013/06/13/bleszinski-on-xbox-one-used-block-big-budget-games-pre-owned-cannot-co-exist/

    http://www.destructoid.com/used-games-and-aaa-games-are-incompatible-good--256227.phtml

But I would agree with Sterling up there, up until a point. See I've read a lot of Cliffy B stuff, and I don't think he's an idiot. In fact he has had some awesome reads on this thoughts on game design. Now that hasn't actually translated to anything he did with Gears of War, but he's a lot smarter than the internet gives him credit for. So is David Jaffe. So is Ted Price. So are people at Naughty Dog and Santa Monica. So are a shit ton of Japanese devs who in one way or another have shared Cliffy B's sentiment.

SO what's my issue? well the following. In fact let me just borrow a post from PBsnipes(plus I'm lazy and only about to get like 2-3 hours of sleep)

    :
It would be nice if someone did some honest-to-god journalism and took a hard look at the economics of AAA vs. budget/indie development, because I think people tend to get a little too enamored with a handful of nice anecdotes and forget about the larger industry. I mean, let's look at some of Sterling's examples:

CoD- Never mind the engine, they haven't significantly changed the gameplay since the original. And they spend a bajillion dollars a year on advertising. So maybe not something your average dev is going to be able to replicate.

Minecraft- A ****-ugly game that so thoroughly captured the zeitgeist it was a license to print money before it was even out of alpha. Again, not exactly something that's going to extrapolate to the greater gaming industry.

Valve- Literally the best and brightest in the industry given an effectively unlimited budget, no deadlines and no real managerial oversight. If only Silicon Knights had thought of that!

Metro- Made under awful conditions in a country where the average software developer apparently only makes $25,000 a year, and (if VGChartz is to be believed) it utterly bombed on consoles. So I guess the solution is to just outsource everything and pray the PC community latches onto it?

So as much as I love the idea of the whole "everyone should just make $20 games that are so good we'd rather keep them than trade 'em in for $2.19 at Gamestop" argument, I'm not sure that it's a realistic scenario. Ultimately the average consumer only has so much time/money to invest in gaming, and those limits naturally favour blockbuster AAA titles -- it's not a fluke that pretty much every media industry operates on the same "lose a little money on a bunch of projects in the hopes of making a ****-ton on one or two gems" principle.

The $20 thing certainly could work under the right circumstances, but I think people need to recognize that the economics are far more complex than just "why spend $100 million on a game that'll sell 10 million copies at $60 when you could spend $10 million on a game that'll sell 5 million copies at $20?"

I think first of all too many forum gamers love listing examples of the opposite, but forget every rule has exceptions. Exceptions don't suddenly become the rule. But that requires a mental capacity past that of an 8 year old.Which as I've stated many times most of you could probably not above an 8 year old.

That said I don't see why just making smaller budgeted games isn't an option. Yet they all keep saying its crazy for me to think that way. So? How about games "jounralists" actually did their f*cking job, and made that aspect of the gaming industry far more transparent. No instead you're gonna spend the next 12 months trying to figure out if the xbox is gonna win or the playstation is gonna win. WHile completely ignoring an aspect of the game industry that clearly needs a giant spot light on it.

Because it's one thing for all these devs to say we're very ignorant of how actual game design works. And we f*cking are, and to anyone about to respond to me like you know something. You actually don't, so stop talking. But it's another when I'm given the answer to WHY? why is this not an option?

Because my current opinion is that it's some ghetto "artistic pride" of wanting to do something bigger and better, and really you're just making insane budgets for no reasons. So either Cliff or Jaffe or anyone needs to shine some light on this subject, or how about the so called games journalists actually do some journalism. Am I out of line here Kevin Von Ord? or Mcshea? or Sessler? or Jeff Gertsmann for that matter? or Andy Mc from Game Informer, or any one of the apes that works for Edge or Eurogamer.

Here is a prime chance for you guys to do something worth praising in your field. So please get to it.

Topic titles must be between 5 and 80 characters because we are Lamespot

I'm under the weather, but I am still here pimping out our shit.

    http://www.gufuyourself.com/2013/06/10/the-game-pricing-debacle/

That is an article written by Tom(not the tomas from the cast), and of course

    http://www.gufuyourself.com/2013/06/09/gufuyourself-brocast-episode-13-pre-e3-edition/

I been busy most of the weekend so I forgot to post that. See It's been a busy stretch of podcasting. Anyway that was the pre E3 stuff. Obviously incredibly dated, but there was the intro with the bear sex talk. I don't know how that happened, but they blame me for it. Like I'm the bad guy here?

It's okay though I fully expect to have our E3 reactions done by tomorrow or wednesday night. Other than that it was a solid E3. Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, and Sony all took turns being meh to really good, and in the case of Sony publicly raping Microsoft in the span of 3 minutes.

It was all good stuff. Best game shown on stage in a demo? Hmm.....I'll go with Dead Rising 3 by a hair over Metal Gear Solid 5. Most of the "new" stuff was either only okay(Ryse) or made by people I have very little faith in(Ubisoft for instance) or indie games. And Indie games didn't get elaborate demos as much as they got "hey we got an indie game" here or there. ALthough Sony really went all out with that Indie love, so that was nice. Transistor has my interest. I'm looking forward to seeing demo footage of that when it's online.

Worst game footage I saw? The Battlefield 4 campaign footage during the Microsoft showing. I mean holy christ did that look so mind numbing. I said this to Sean McCloughlin on a system wars podcast we were on(yeah so I'm basically radio whoring it right now) that one has to be mentally challenged to find that shit even remotely fun. I mean god damn. Did the mp footage make up for it? F*ck no. It looked like more Battlefield 3. As in a very by the numbers sequel.

Dead Rising 3 and Metal Gear Solid 5 and The Witcher 3 actually look progressive as sequels in their franchises. They look like there is some evolution their in the game design(okay well Dead Rising's environments bother me a little, and the lack of camp during the early parts), but BF4? That looks like Battlefield 3 with some fixes to the stuff BF3 ruined coming from BF2 and 2142. Bad game? No. Totally uneventful and uninspiring? Most definitely.

Biggest Disappointment: No Giant Bomb Live show. Apparently they got robbed this year. Like all their equipment was stolen and shit from their studio this year. Yep all those years in shady ass crackhouses? totally safe and smooth. The first year in a nice studio? Robbed. Gotta love it.

Other than that um Dear Bungie. If you're going to show more of Destiny please show more of the stuff you whoed at the end. The stuff outdoors and in wider spaces, because in corridors it looked too borderlands territory, and for the uneducated: I tbhink Borderlands one is boring.

Well that's really it. My new PC parts come in tomorrow. So I shall be building my rig, or on Wednesday if i don't wanna get out of bed tomorrow morning.

New PC, Dark Souls 100%, and You Should Jack It

    http://youtu.be/ZmKrjaVg5JQ

I don't know if I ever dropped my truths, but for those that care. Royce is the superior rapper out of the rappers from Detroit. Yeah over white boy Eminem. Royce still can pump out shit that sounds great, Em? He hasn't been good since what? This song?

    http://youtu.be/kzHnNPLWsDQ

Regardless I'm bored, and I have shameless blabvertisement(I'll admit it blab, it has a nice ring to it) to do right now

    http://www.gufuyourself.com/2013/06/06/brocast-episode-12-xbox-one/

One our podcasts we just put up. Mostly on the XBOX One after the dust has settled and we've had time to marinate on our thoughts of how shitty Microsoft PR is. Also Tomas being wrong on the artistic properties of the NFL. Oh and a Tom Towers name drop.

    http://www.gufuyourself.com/2013/06/05/backlog-review-the-darkness-ii/

And Justin reviewed The Darkness 2. You should read it.

We were gonna add some editorials finally to it, but I just paid for our new domain name: Endlessbacklog. So I'll just hold my thoughts on that for awhile. Regardless not enough Trutheries in here so. Time to shine the white hot light of truth

    354086d1353527414-gta-v-five-discussion-

So my PC is fried. Funny story. Liz and Jade were watching my niece and nephew, and I was at work. My nephew got out of their sight, and went to go mess with my PC, and well started messing with the cords on my PC. Yanked my power cord almost right out of the power supply, shit was sparking, fried a good chunk of the inside of my PC, damn near fried himself. Thank the lord nothing happened.

So as you can assume I'm just actually happy nothing bad happened to my nephew, because I can buy a computer. Having to explain to my sister that Liz's sister lost track of her son, and got him fried? Holy shit!! Anyway I thought it was kind of cute how they all schemed to bring this news to me.

So I like come home, and they are all behaving, and Liz has everyone to shut up and let her handle it and let me calm down. How do you lower my guard? Easy beer, a good meal prepared for me when I get home, and all that jazz. Would have worked, but my niece broke. Sweetheart that she is could not lie to me to my face, just out right says "please don't be mad at him"....so naturally "what the f*ck did he do?"

So I see what happened to my PC and I see what happened to it. I don't know why they thought it be furious, because honestly I only care that he's safe and all that jazz. Anyway regardless it was a good enough excuse to buy new PC parts to build my new pc. Now some of you are saying did I really need drop money like that? Well for those of you unaware it's not that I'm rich, no I work week to week like all of you, albeit I know how to save my money very well. It's that I'm impulsive as f*ck, and I have dope ass credit. Put a thousand dollars worth of stuff on one card, balance transfer that to another card, and pay it off in a 12month span no interest. So I don't have to pay large up front, I just pay it up overtime, or by the time my tax return comes in next year. So what did I get?

    CPU: i7 4770 3.5ghz
    GPU: GTX 660 2GB
    Ram: 16 gigs
    800w Power Supply
Windows 7 because LOL WINDOWS 8....actually I don't really care. I just didn't like the tablet interface with Windows 8. I've learned that most people who complain about OS's are first problems tier people. Like I still don't remember what was so bad about vista.

a but load of fans and coolants and all that shit to keep my PC cool, um a SSD or whatever for boot up stuff because apparently that makes boot ups fast, a 2TB harddrive. And a bunch of other shit that I didn't really understand, but I made sure through people these parts were good. Like the motherboard stuff is like this long ass name of nonsense that I don't understand.

So yeah it's a decent rig, I'm sure I'll be able to run games at a respectable resolution/frame rate. Nothing to write home about. The one downside of this is that they gave me a Metro Last Light free coupon with my graphics card purchase. Which like come on guys, eww. Forcing such a colossal borefest on me like that. Have some respect for your consumers Nvidia. Sheesh.

    DARK SOULS

    Dark_Souls_PC_Screenshots-181659.jpg

I think I am finally done with Dark Souls. Well not really. I still want to make some PVP builds. I have some neat ideas for a faith build, and I do love me some Darkmoon blades, but for now I'm gonna take a break from it like I took a break from my Ninja Gaiden 2 quest to conquer it on master ninja?

Why? Because I got obsessed enough to get all the achievements in Dark Souls -_-

I usually don't achievement whore it, because they don't do anything for me. In fact Dark Souls joins the elite company of madden 08, madden 09, and Pacman championship DX in terms of games where I got all the achievements. And that's mostly because those 3 games basically give them to you on a silver platter. Regardless I love me some Dark Souls, and it adds a "completed" game to my library of games. And I don't believe in 100%ing games, because the vast majority of 100%ing games requires me to do boring shit, but not Dark Souls. I enjoyed doing everything, and buying everything, and creating everything.

Plus the main game was enjoyable on my 3 playthroughs so far.

    http://backloggery.com/jg4xchamp

Which brings my backlog down to 95 games, or 97 if we throw in the fact that I'm getting The Last of Us and Company of Heroes 2. The goal? To get it down to like 75 by the end of the summer. Why? Because i bet Justin that I could do it. So now it must be done.

But I'll probably only drop it to 90 : (

Well that's it. I'm using Liz's laptop to type this all up so I don't really feel like searching for wenches. It might lead to temptations to jack it, then I'll go search porn, I'll forget to delete the history, and then Liz asks why I was watching porn on her laptop, and I'll be like "well you were at work, and I was horny"...and she'll give me one of those stupid looks, and it's just a long process. Plus I can wait for my new PC to jack it.

So cheers gamespot, and go jack your shit to porn or something. You have my blessing.
