So I've had my 3DS for a couple weeks now and enjoying it. Now bear in mind I did not have a DSi so I missed out on some of it's nifty bells and whistles so going from the DS Lite to the 3DS was a jump for me.

AR Cards- I gotta admit, while it is a gimmick with the camera like the time waster Face Raiders, it was still fun placing a card on the table and using the camera to make it come to life as well as the character cards. I need to post a pic of it but this feature had a weird interaction with my Iphone. It was lying on the same table as the card and as I was taking a pic of the Mario card, Kirby's image or the ? Block image would randomly appear on the Iphone screen. Some kind of weird interaction glitch but cool nonetheless.

Street Pass/Mii Plaza: Nintendo's slow intergration into online game is them taking a different route then PSN or XBL. It appears they are going for more of a Facebook aspect of online gaming. Actually the Mii Plaza and Street Pass are a less annoying version of Facebook because people aren't using it to constantly bombard you with their political views, sending you stupid game requests and posting barely literate comments. Sadly I live in a very rural area so finding large crowds to use Street Pass is tough for me but I've had luck whenever I go to the mall. Usually when I go to either Target or a Gamestop that has a 3DS Kiosk, they have Street Pass on and usually I can pick up 3 or 4 folks in a pass. I love that you can earn wacky hats (I'm currently wearing cat ears). So far the ones I've seen have been playing either NSMB2, Super Mario 3D Land, KH3D and one kid who was playing the Spiderman game. I know that sounds silly that I'd get all excited over seeing folks in my Mii Plaza but hey.

DSWare Shop- Thank you 3DS shop for having Gameboy games now. I can now play Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening or as I like to call it the Link/Mario crossover game where Link shipwrecks on an island full of Chain Chomps, Goombas, Shyguys and a little mustachioed guy who can turn into a racoon and is obsessed with finding mushrooms. Now all they have to do is make the 2 Orcale Zelda games available and I'll have played all the main Zelda games. (no one counts CDI games)

As well as the often forgotten 2nd Kid Icarus game for the GB which is slightly more easier in that the dungeons are less confusing and falling off screen doesn't mean instant death. Speaking of Kid Icarus.....

Kid Icarus Uprising is my new favorite 3DS game at this particular time. It's awesome to have a true first party Nintendo game with semi competent voice acting and this just assaults you with pure action. I could go on about the title but I'll save it for a review. So far, favorite game of 2012. Seriously.

Kid Icarus is really amazing and I hope Ninty turns some other old one off game into a new IP (such as Ice Climbers)

 @kbaily Better still!

On a similar note, It would be brilliant if they teamed up with Maxis again and made a bona fide SimCity game for the WiiU, one like the SNES Simcity or the japan only SimCity64.

I still need to buy, let alone play, Kid Icarus: Uprising.

KIU is a spectacular game.  However, I would have been content if it was nothing but flying stages all the way through.  Controls got rather clunky on the ground.

How are the crippling controls?

 @Foolz3h Honestly I didn't have any problem with the controls. Then again I'm not one who relfexively hates any non traditional controls scheme and believe me I went into the game worried I wouldn't be able to control it well but I figured it out in five minutes.

Kid Icarus Uprising was a nice surprise, I was pretty skeptic of how the game would turn out after seeing some gameplay (it looked like a generic rail shooter with some generic god of war mixups), but it was surprisingly well designed and fun to play, only real problem is the camera (and the awkward learning curve at first). I'd say Persona 4 Arena is my favorite game of 2012 so far though, it's a nice Blazblue esque fighter but with more accesible mechanics and it really pleases the MegaTen fan inside me :v
