Last console I had played games on was PlayStation 1. Yeah, long time ago... PC is my main source of digital entertainment, but I respect consoles. Heck, my first gaming steps were on a mix of handhelds (Gameboy), NES and PC (Prince of Persia and similar games).
When I got my hands on the PC version of a highly acclaimed console game called Dark Souls, part of the notorious difficulty for me was the fact that the controller wasn't my usual weapon of choice. It doesn't matter if you hate or love consoles, one has to admit that the mouse/keyboard combo and the controller stand for different gaming mechanics by their very own nature.
So, I can't help but wonder how will the PC version of the sequel look like. How much will it be different than it's console counterparts? I don't care for the "graphics superiority" that is usually required from PC game versions, but it would be nice if the internal resolution of the sequel is adapted better for this gaming machine. How much will the core gaming mechanics differ from each version of the game? Will the keyboard/mouse combo have it's own feel or will it have similar style to controller play? In the end, the thing that matters most is will the core game be good, but I kind of have the feeling it will.
Dark Souls on PC is very basic, so basic that it almost feels like playing the game through an emulator. But, I don't blame the developers for this, since they were honest from the beginning of the porting process, and at the end, game is a masterpiece so it's good to have it on the PC.
